Questions and answers

Below you will find answers to the vast majority of questions you may have about the service

DiggiPay is an electronic payment solution that makes payment easier, for both the user and the point of sale. To start using DiggiPay, create a user account on the website or by downloading the DiggiPay-app and top-up the account by using a payment card or Vipps. The DiggiPay card/tag must be registered and linked to your user account before it can be used for payments. You can register multiple DiggiPay cards/tags to your user account. Payments are done by tapping the DiggiPay card/tag on the payment terminal, or by scanning the QR code displayed in the DiggiPay-app using the payment terminal.

Through your user account, you can top-up money, view all transactions and your account balance, refund money back to your own bank account and block registered DiggiPay cards/tags. You can also transfer money to other DiggiPay users, both online and through the DiggiPay-app.

You are not able to use DiggiPay without a registered user account, and before utilizing DiggiPay you have to top-up your account using a payment card or Vipps. The DiggiPay card/tag is your payment instrument and must be linked to your account before it can be used to perform payments. You can link DiggiPay cards/tags to your user account both online and through the app.

YES. As a DiggiPay user you can create several user accounts that you can manage. For example, parents/guardians with two children at school who don´t want their children to be connected to a joint user account, can have individual user accounts with separate balances for each of the children. Parents/guardians must then create a user account for themselves and separate user accounts for each of the children. They must then assign themselves as "Administrators" for the children's user accounts, which will make these accounts visible in their own user account. They can then manage the children's accounts via their own user, see the balance, top up and refund money.

Setting yourself up as "Administrator" on the children's accounts can only be done on the website, and not in the app.

No. A user account can be linked to several DiggiPay cards/tags, but a DiggiPay card/tag cannot be linked to several various accounts. They can only be linked to the account which will be charged upon payments.

E.g. if a child attending a school has parents/guardians with shared responsibility, each parent/guardian should have their own user account and set up a separate user account for the child. The DiggiPay card can be linked to the child’s account, and each parent/guardian can easily transfer money from their own accounts an onto the child’s, either online or through the app.

No. The use account is personal and can only have one owner, as all transactions are linked to the person who owns the registered user account.

But you can grant other people access to your account and assign roles based on what you will allow them to do. Assigning roles can only be done through the website, not the app.

E.g. parents/guardians with shared responsibility for a child using DiggiPay in the school canteen can register their own user accounts, and a separate account for the child. Both parents/guardians can then assign themselves as “Administrators” for the child’s user account, which then will be visible within both their own accounts. They will both then be able to administer the child’s account through their own user accounts and see transactions, balance, top up and refund money.

DiggiPay-cards are distributed to pupils and school staff from the school’s administration alongside an information brochure about DiggiPay.

Tags that are used for events are distributed to all participants / ticket holders from the event organizer alongside an information brochure.

If your DiggiPay card or tag is lost and you need a replacement card/tag, note that there may be a replacement fee set by the school’s administration/ event organizer for issuing a new one.

No. Payments are made by simply tapping the card/tag on the payment terminal without PIN.

At some events participants can top up the DiggiPay card/tag with cash on site, and the DiggiPay cards/tags used for these events contain a PIN code used when refunding unused balance. This PIN is stated on the back of the cards/tags used for these types of events and needs to be entered upon registration.

No, you cannot. DiggiPay is a new payment system located on a separate platform from Kantinekortet, and there is no connection between the two solutions. As they are two separate systems, it is not possible to transfer money between them.

For a set period pupils at the school can use both Kantinekortet AND DiggiPay in the school canteen before the final transition to DiggiPay. In that way they can use the remaining balance left on their Kantinekort before they start using their new DiggiPay cards. Should you have remaining balance left on Kantinekortet once the school has med the transition to DiggiPay, you can still refund unused balance back to your own bank account. Please see information on how to do this HERE.

You can set your card/tag as inactive in your user account online or in the app, which will make it unusable. If found, you can easily re-activate it in the same way.

Online: In the overview of registered cards/tags, click on the card/tag you wish to deactivate. In the “edit tag” frame click on the blue hitch in the bottom left next to “Active,” and then “Save tag”. The status will then change to inactive.

In the app: Press the menu in the top left corner of your screen (the three lines), and then press «Tags». A list of your registered cards/tags will appear. Click on the green button next to the card/tag you wish to set inactive. The button turns grey, and the status is set to inactive.
